Pelvic Exam Workshop 

Day/Date:          Tuesday, March 18, 2008
Time:                5:30 pm – 8:30 pm (Registration @ 5 pm)
Location:           Planned Parenthood of Western Washington
                        Seattle Clinic, Seattle , WA

Participants in this interactive and clinical workshop will explore the complexities of conducting a pelvic exam which is individualized to a woman’s needs and promotes a trusting therapeutic relationship while conveying important clinical data. Teaching models will be available for this practicum.

Clinical Conference for Family Planning & Breast and Cervical Cancer Services Contractors

CALL FOR EVENTS

The FPMTC is requesting organizations that are hosting events, training sessions, conferences and other meetings related to male family planning and reproductive health topics to submit their event information to the FPMTC Calendar of Events. Posting your event on the FPMTC Calendar of Events will provide visibility to a nationwide audience of male reproductive health professionals as well as clinicians and academicians with an interest in male health. Information for posting should be sent to FPMTC, 5900 Summit Avenue, Browns Summit, NC, 27214 or emailed to FPMTC@uncg.edu.

ELECTRONIC LIBRARY UPDATED

Additional abstracts have been posted in the Electronic Library. The Electronic Library is an annotated listing of publications that address theoretical and applied aspects of male sexual and reproductive health. The Electronic Library will be continually updated as new articles are published and abstracted.

EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES UPDATED

The Inventory of Educational Resources has been updated with listings of several publications that offer guidelines for male services and training materials.

NEW GUIDELINES PUBLICATION RELEASED

The Region II Male Involvement Advisory Committee has released a new publication "Guidelines for Male Sexual and Reproductive Health Services." According to the document's Preface, written by Sue Moskosky, Director, Office of Family Planning, Office of Population Affairs, the publication is intended to be a resource that can be used in the development of clinical services for male clients."

NEW REPORT ON SEXUAL BEHAVIOR RELEASED

The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) has released the sixth (Cycle 6) National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG), which was conducted in 2002. "The Sexual Behavior and Selected Health Measures: Men and Women 15-44 of Age, United States, 2002" report released by the NSFG details sexual behavior among males and females 15-44 years of age in the United States in 2002. Cycle 6 represents the first time males were surveyed directly for the report. MORE

2002 NATIONAL SURVEY OF FAMILY GROWTH DATA NOW AVAILABLE

The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) has released the sixth (Cycle 6) National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG), which was conducted in 2002. The data provides the latest information on factors affecting birth and pregnancy rates and women's reproductive health in the United States. "For the very first time, Cycle 6 included men aged 15-44 and covered topics similar to those for females, related to reproductive health and fatherhood." MORE
